Indominus Rex Costume

I am still amazed that I even pulled this costume off. The idea started when my 7 year old son decided that he wanted to be Indominus Rex for Halloween. I looked up different pictures and was pretty intimidated by the task at hand. My husband even told me it wasn't worth trying. I decided I would at least try to create something and if it didn’t work I would have him be something different. I started by creating a head out of craft foam. Then I stuffed it with stuffing and glued on some material. I used makeup sponges for the spikes and I had my husband do the shading with a fabric marker. I couldn't find any ping pong balls at the store so I ended up buying and modifying some fishing bobbers to use for the eyes. I didn't want the head to be a mask so I had the idea of attaching it to a baseball hat. My son loves wearing it like that because he can still see easily. I made the tail out of cotton material and the feet out of felt. I also glued on some spikes to some gloves for his hands.
