Into the Spiderverse Costume

After seeing the amazing Into the Spiderverse movie earlier in 2019, I knew I wanted to pay homage by assembling a crew of Spidermen (and women!) to descend upon the streets of West Hollywood's annual Carnival scene. As an added twist, I loved how the "Spidey sense" was represented, comic book-style, throughout the film and decided to duplicate that element in DIY form for our posse. That way, we'd look constantly "aware" of others with special radioactive spider abilities, both within our group and without (should we encounter other Spider persons at the event who were "just like us"). The Spidey sense squiggles were constructed with foam core poster board, printed outlines, varying colors of EL wire, headbands, wooden dowels, and gobs of clear packing and electrical tape. We set them to "flicker" for the entire night. Miles Morales, Peter Parker, Spider Gwen, and Spider Noir are represented.
