Jack and Sally Costume

My husband and I came uo with this idea because he is so tall (6'8") which fit Jack Skellingtons character. Most of the costumes were made from things I had at home. For Jacks suit we found the pants and the jacket at Goodwill, which cost like $4 each. Then I bought some fabric paint($3) and painted each stipe onto the pants and the jacket. The mask and gloves were bought from our local halloween store (mask $20, gloves $10). For Jacks bowtie we cut the shape out of cardbord and used foam to make it more sturdy and glued black fabric onto it. We then put the white designs on with the fabric paint. Now, for Sally, I found an old black dress in my closet to use for the base of her dress. Then I found some fabric I had laying around, in which I only had some of the colors I needed, so I went to goodwill and bought shirts that matched the colors I needed ($5). After I had everything, I then started cutting out pieces and handsewed them all on! After all that hard work I started to draw the designs on the dress and put the black stiching into the dress with yarn. Since my sister is a hairdresser she dyed my hair to match Sallys color, which cost nothing. We wore shoes that we already had, and I painted my makeup with costume makeup ($3) and used black liquid eye liner for the stitches on my skin. Overall I put a lot of work into these costumes. We just really enjoy Halloween and I love being creative!!
