Lady Liberty and the Empire State Building Costume

My husband and I dressed as Lady Liberty and the Empire State Building. Lady liberty was largely purchased (gown, crown and wig), except I made the the torch out of a paper towel tube and box board. I used paper mache and hot glue to add details and then painted it teal with gold accents. The flame is yellow tissue paper. I shoved a flashlight inside so it lit up at night. The Empire State Building is entirely homemade. It is mostly spray painted cardboard. He cut out all the windows and taped colored tissue paper to them. Behind the windows are battery powered lights. When lit up the windows were all different colors, it was beautiful.
