This homemade costume for women entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Shila, the 'Lady Pirate Captain' costume creator:
The inspiration for this costume comes from two places:from a dinner show called "Pirates Voyage in South Carolina (in the gift shop) and from St. Augustine in Florida where pirating is famous and has some of its roots. I got the hat in the gift shop and that's what started the idea. Then more items in St Augustine in the gift shop there. Some of it is from Party City and some is from a gift shop (Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies). Some of the costume jewelry is from my mother who has passed on. And the makeup....well I watched several YouTube videos on how to put it together. I look forward to this every year and go all-out!
