This homemade costume for women entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Jennifer, the 'Lagertha, Viking Shield Maiden' costume creator:
This was a passion project for me this year. Having recently found out my ancestry was predominantly viking, I began researching the culture and am now a HUGE fan of History Channel's show, "Vikings". I used 299 washers, 60 yards of leather trim, 325 clothing spikes, and that's just the beginning! I even made my shield! As a stay at home of of 2, under the age of 5, I had to stay up past "bed time" to complete this costume, and it took me 2 months! I think the chain mail is one of my favorite parts!
