This homemade costume for boys entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Carrie, the 'Lightening McQueen' costume creator:
I found this idea on Pinterest but I knew my son wouldn’t wear it. So I made quite a few modifications to make it large enough to fit over his wagon that he loves riding in. It’s made out of cardboard and felt and lots of glue! I started with the car frame and created supports from there. Once the car was made them the tedious job of covering with felt and handmade felt decals. The costume cost approximately $40 to make. It took me about 3 weeks working 2-3 hours per day on it.
