A word from Melanie, the 'Little Old Lady' costume creator:
My husband and I decided to dress our 5.5 month old daughter as a little old lady. We had seen variations of this costume floating around the Internet and just had to attempt it! Our daughter cannot walk yet, but she loves to stand with support. I was able to take a few of these pictures of her with the walker, handmade by my husband. He bought pvc pipes from the hardware store, assembled them to the right height, and spray painted them with a grey rubber spray paint. The small tennis balls came from the pet store. We made the wig by sewing cotton balls onto a baby cap. The dress, sweater, and socks were bought at a children's consignment sale, while the head scarf, glasses, pearl chain, and brooch were from a craft store. All-in-all, this was a fairly inexpensive (~$30) and easy costume to make. In addition, since I dressed as Little Red Riding Hood and my husband as the Big Bad Wolf, this "Granny" costume worked out well for a family costume!
