A word from Austa, the 'Living Dead Ventriloquist Doll' costume creator:
I decided to be a Living Dead Ventriloquist doll because it's simply unique! I have never seen this costume before and it was Trick or Treat night in my county, so before work I decided to dress up for all the little trick or treaters. My overall cost was 15$. I only had to pay for the tattoo scars, the fake eyelashes, the leggings, and the fake blood. I already had the dress, the makeup, and the shoes. However, getting the dead side of my face to look realistic was very tricky. It took 2 hours or so to make it look all banged and bruised up. I started the face makeup by taking eye liner and very lightly drawing a crooked line down the center of my face. I then applied the fake tattoo diagonally from one side of my face, to the other. Then, I took a small foundation brush and some maroon eye shadow and started dabbing a little at a time down my face. After I got it covered with maroon, I took a little bit of smokey black and added to it. That was the trickiest part of the whole costume!! After I made my face look like I got double teamed by a bunch of zombies, I took the fake blood and dabbed into the tattoos and thru my eye brow to make it look like it was gashed open. I put some like it was coming out of my nose. I have to say, after i looked in the mirror, i scared myself. When i got to work that evening, everyone saw the pretty side of my face, but when they turned to the other side, they were pretty shocked. I got a lot of compliments on my costume. Definitely a must do!!
