This homemade costume for women entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Amanda, the 'Lorraine Swanson' costume creator:
This year I chose to be Lorraine Swanson, a character from Fridley, Minnesota who appeared on MADtv, seasons 4-10 and 13. I have always been a huge MADtv fan and Lorraine is one of my favorite characters (played by Mo Collins). Lorraine is known for her characteristic "Uhhh" (coughing), being horrible at pronouncing words and names, kicking things to test how sturdy they are, finding extreme value in small objects, and not following directions. Whenever I choose a costume I always stay in character the whole night - acting, talking, walking, etc. like Lorriane would in various situations.
I bought all the clothing for this costume at various thrift shops. The wig came from Ebay and the glasses from a costume store.
