Mad Hatter Costume

Yvonne Thompson is wearing the costume. Parts of it were purchased and parts were hand made. The idea came from the 2010 Movie, Alice In Wonderland. The Alice falling through the rabbit hole were made by Yvonne Thompson. The idea came from an image of one someone else had made. This is my version of both the Mad Hatter and Alice falling through the rabbit hole. I used a pair of white tights and stuffed them with pillow stuffing. Placed a hanger down each leg and hot glued a pair of old shoes on the feet. I used one blue curtain and one white sheer curtain for the dress and used the tie back from the curtain to tie it all together. The back is a grapevine wreath that I wired to a poster board. I cut a small hole in the poster board and pulled the dress and tights through it just enough to allow it to hang properly, and wired it all in place. Then I added moss and greenery with hot glue. It worked great!
