A word from Sarah, the 'Maleficent' costume creator:
My daughter was fascinated after watching the movie "Malificent" and decided to dress up in Malificent costume. We wanted to give a try making the costume and it was a success
"How-to " Instructions
Gown:
Balck polyster material.
I stitched the gown with long wide sleeves.
Horns:
Two 9" wires
Newspapers
foil
masking tape
headband
glue gun
black shiny stretchy material for horns and head wrap
one black synthetic material for widows peak(the triangle in the front)

Steps making the horns:
I cut two 9" wires. Crumpled 3 big and 3 small newspapers and one cone newspaper with some tissues stuffed in the newspaper through the wires secured it with hot glue and masking tape per horn. Then covered it with foil giving it the shape of Malificent's horns. Then curl the wire ends and slide it through the headband. Take the black strechy cloth and wrap around the horns along with the headband.
For widows peak: cut a hexagon with leather piece keeping a wide and pointy tip. and cover the borders with electrical tape.
Head wrap: Take about 3/4 t0 1/2 yard shiny cloth same used for horns. Cut slits on the sides.
Assemble:
Make two pony tails. Wear the headband. tie the ponytails around the headband to secures the horns on place. place the widows peak and pin it. Lastly, Wrap the head using the he'd wrap.
Staff or Walking Stick:
One big stick from the backyard

Everyone were stunned to see the horns and the Staff.
I don't know if the head piece is clear in the pics. I took a lot of effort and came out very beautiful
