A word from Brandon, the 'Master Chief' costume creator:

My name is Brandon. I am wearing the costume. I created this costume to surprise my cousin who is a big Halo fan. I recorded his reaction as I surprised him with it on. I created this costume by downloading each individual armor piece on a website and customizing each piece to fit my body size. Once completed, I 3D printed the pieces using plastic beads and sanded out each piece to take away the shiny plastic look. I utilized an ultraviolet matte spray to full dull out the armor and painted carefully the corners with a metallic paint to give it a metal weathered look. The helmet was the most difficult piece. I bought a motorcycle visor and jigsaw cut it out to fit the helmet and siliconed it tight. I recently added a blue light to the back of the Helmet to represent Cortana from the videogame. This was accomplished by emptying the liquid out of a compass to get the circular glass base and I filled the glass base with a USB powered LED strip. I simply used a small powerbank to power the helmet. The inside jacket is a black motorcycle jacket which fills all the gaps in-between the armor pieces and gives the costume a little more base and substance for which to mount each piece onto. Surprisingly, all the materials used were not an expensive as I thought it would be. Honestly the most expensive item in the costume was the needler gun I purchased from the Halo company. Altogether, id say the whole costume cost me approximately $250 CAN to make.

I've attended fanexpo Canada a few years and the costume became very popular with bystanders, I was encouraged by many people to create an Instagram page so people can share photos they have taken with me.
