Medusa Costume

My costume was inspired by a video by Ellimac SFX..Had always wanted to do a Medusa costume and once I saw the headpiece and prosthetics she created.. the challenge was on.. Using Eva foam, a wig, skewer sticks and a headband the process began!! It took a lot of time and many sticks of glue to make!! Then it was on to the prosthetics.. Never done anything like this. Took a deep breath and made the brow and cheeks out of rice flour and latex.. embedded snakes into it.. and after 3 tries was satisfied with how it looked!! The actual dress was some beautiful material from Yardage Town.. The led eyes I was going to make but no talent in soldering so Gregarious geek made them for the occasion.. The perfect finishing touch.. Getting ready and putting on the prosthetics was so much of a challenge... it was so much fun and the final look even shocked this old girl!!! Cost wise .. hmmm was about $200.. plus.. but so worth the fun and the hours of pleasure to make something so out of the usual!!! With so much talent to be inspired by ..
