Mickey Mouse Roadster Costume

I made this wheelchair costume for my 5 year old. There aren't many wheelchair costumes on the market, and he is a huge Mickey Mouse fan, so I just had to make him something special. I looked at what other people have done for their loved ones with mobility challenges, and used a Mickey Mouse toy for inspiration. Basically, I built this around his wheelchair using foam board, lots of glue, and tons of masking tape. I used poster board and card stock to add all the details and to personalize it. The most expensive material I bought was paint! Color was an important part of this to really sell it as the Mickey Mouse Roadster, so I purchased a high quality latex paint. I am an artist, but I had never built anything like this. I learned some lessons along the way, but I couldn't be prouder of it! This will be his first custom wheelchair costume of many, and I'm already thinking about what I'm going to build next!
