This homemade costume for kids entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Liz, the 'Minions' costume creator:

These are our kids, Paige and Owen. The costume is made using a concrete form tube (purchased as Lowes) with a large balloon used to make the paper mache dome. They were then wrapped in a yellow fabric and outfitted with denim overalls. The goggles are made from paperclip cups wrapped in duct tape. The kids look through the mouth which is covered with a black mesh fabric. We went to an event locally and the kids were treated like rock stars with dozens of people wanting to take pictures with them.

Is there instructions on how to make this? This is the best one I've seen!

Love the costume! Can you share how it was made. My son REALLY wants to be a minion and fell in love with your creation. Totally would not mind making it myself but would appreciate your guidance.

Thank you

I found cardboard tubes at home depot and put a balloon on top to papermachie over it. you have to cut the tube to size.Sprayed it yellow. Covered it in yellow material..felt like...Eyes were from the dollar store. They we tin paper clip holders and I cut and glued eyes inside them. The mouth is black mesh and thats what they see out of.The hair is pipe cleaners stuck and glues in the head. My husband glued overhauls on them. Also instauled suspenders in them so the top does on rest on there head. All cut and past some screws. It is very extensive work and my not do this every year. After this year I beleive we will be selling them. Also go on ytube or pintrest for instructions. I got ideas from there. Hope this helps!

what did you use to make the teeth. Did you pen the suspenders at bottom when kids put over their heads?
