A word from Tracy, the 'Miss Frizzle and the Magic School Bus' costume creator:
I was miss frizzle for Halloween, the teacher in the children's story book/ early 90's television program 'the magic school bus'. I purchased a blue dress and a purple blouse from goodwill for a total of $9. I altered the blouse and sewed it into the dress to make a collar and a button down look. I then purchased solar system felt board peices (etsy, $6) and sewed them on. I additionally found a pair of earrings that looks celestial(goodwill $1). I owned the gold flats and had my mom send a chameleon from my prior beanie baby collection which a safety pinned to the dress.
My accessory (or some might say I am her accessory) is my dog Beti (Instagram #betigram). She was kind enough to participate as my magic school bus, which is a spray painted Amazon.com box with a cut out front and back to fit over her body. I then cut the flaps to look like spaceship wings and printed the faces of the characters with a home printer. The windows of the bus are black duct tape and packaging tape was used to afix the faces in the Windows. Celestial and letter scrapbooking stickers were used to decorate her bus.
