A word from Samantha, the 'Mon Petite Old Lady' costume creator:
This is my 8 month year old daughter, Meadow, as a little old lady. Sometimes she makes faces that look like an old lady and seems to be wise beyond her "years", so I just knew she would make the best old lady for Halloween. The costume is pretty simple to make, but it really will be the hit of any party. I bought an oversized used flower print baby dress, a cardigan to match, adult-sized pearls, and baby bunny slippers for her outfit. I found some kid sized sunglasses and pokes the frames out. For her hair I simply hot glued cotton balls on a stretchy baby hat. I used the infant hat the hospital gave us! I made the walker out of pvc pipe. I plan on painting it gray. But it looks fine by itself. You can design your walker however you want, the parts simply pop together and are easy to cut. You can really just use a sharp knife. I wanted her to be able to use it, so we screwed on 2 wheels and then put cut tennis balls in the back so it wouldn't go too fast. I did make the front longer than the back so she wouldn't tilt forward and fall. I originally had a little broche holding her cardigan together, but it kept coming undone and I didn't want her to get jabbed. The beauty of the costume is you can be as creative as you want. You can even add little wrinkles on your baby's perfect face!
