Mother Nature Costume

This is my daughter wearing the Mother Nature costume I made for her. She loves flowers and all the cute little animals found in nature so I thought I would put together something that reflected that. For the dress I found a women's green skirt at the thrift store. I pulled the lining up and tied it over her shoulder to make the dress. I collected as many artificial flowers from friends that I could and glues them allover the dress. For the wings I was able to buy a pair of costume fairy wings and attach them to the straps of a backpack. I covered the front in artificial leaves and the back on flowers. To blend the leaves of the wings with the flowers of the costume I decided to layer the orange leaves along the bottom of the skirt. I had an old wicker basket that I decorated. My friend had some wooden animals that I was able to glue to it. I also attached leaves, flowers and moss around the handle. My daughter had a headband that she wasn't using so I covered it in mass and attached a birds nest that I bought from the craft store. I added some birds and eggs to the inside. We also bought some butterflies, bees and lady bugs at the craft store to add to the headband, wings and dress.
