Moana Family Costume

Our idea came from my daughter's favorite movie, my daughter is Moana,my son is hei hei, my boyfriend is Maui, and I am te fiti. I had to make mauis skirt we ordered his costume. And bought mauis hook and pillow stuffing to fill in the costume. With his skirt I went and bought artificial leaves and tied them to a stem and then I wrapped hemp around the stem.for maui necklace I bought a block of foam and carved out the shapes of the teeth painted them and put them on a piece of hemp. For my costume (te fiti)I took fabric and glued preserved moss to it. For the hair piece I simply took wire, twisted it and put moss in the middle of the twists and glued it. For the heart I cut an spiral and glued it to a piece of felt. Not to mention I had to buy 16 cans of green spray for my hair and two large cans of hair spray to achieve this look. Hei hei costume is all hand made I bought fabric and hand sewed it together. As for Moana we bought it in store but she added a head piece ( which was hand made in the same fashion as te fiti) and an ore( which as mauis signature on it) we also purchased the heart of the fiti. For all our costume and pieces that go with it we spent at least $800-$900 .
