This homemade costume for kids entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Sian, the 'Oogie Boogie' costume creator:
Our 8 year old daughter decided she wanted to be Oogie Boogie from Nightmare before Christmas this year. Of course this is not a costume you can find online or in stores - SO I knew I needed to get to work. I purchased burlap, hobby wire, black & brown embrodiery floss, black yarn and two packs of glue sticks. I made a homemade fat suit for her body and arms to fill her out. I used the burlap to make her body and mask. It took us over two weeks as we did this all by hand and it came out fantastic! She was a HUGE hit at her classmates Halloween party with parents and kids wanting to take pictures with her. Nothing better than a happy kid!!
