Mr. Bigbucks Costume

This is Barney dressed as Mr. Bigbucks. The costume was made intirely by things bought at a thrift store. First is the coat. It was a women's small blazer. I deconstructed it by cutting off the arms, pulling the seam out on the sides and cutting the blazer up the back. Also, I cut a lot of the length off, so it was a size that would fit Barney. I then cut the sleeves to the right length and adjusted the width for the size of Barney's legs. I left the gold buttons where they were on the sleeves. Then sewed the sides up to match with the coat sleeves. I left the back open and used a shoe lace to essentially like a corset so that I could loosen and tighten it to fit Barney. You could also use velcro to close the back of the suit. The shirt was a women's small, I took it apart and cut it to be a dickie and sewed it to the blazer. I also took a small amount of the cuff and sewed it to the inside sleeves, so the shirt looked as though it was sticking out of the sleeve. The tie is actually the skinny side of it so that it looked fit the size of the blazer. I removed the gold buttons on the coat and sewed them higher on the blazer. The wig was a blond wig found at the thrift store. I just cut a small piece of it and bobby pined it to Barney's hair. That is how I came up with the Halloween costume Mr. Bigbucks. The whole thing cost about $10.
