A word from Janina, the 'Nefertiti's Monster' costume creator:
My inspiration for this costume was steampunk and Queen Nefertiti I made this costume using a combination of liquid latex acrylic paint and craft foam. I used craft foam to create the crown and use paint glitter and rhinestone stickers to decorate it. I hot glued a latex brain in the in side of the crown and used plastic tubing filled with glow in the dark paint to make it look like the brain was being powered by some type of fluid. The base of the arm is made out of part of my daughters puzzle mat (eva foam)and craft foam that I cut and heated to fit around my arm. I then use strips of craft foam to make the stripes on the arm and part of a latex mask that I bought for the gears and wires on the upper arm I also bought some styrofoam skulls that I cut the back off and glued to the arm as well. I made a clay heart that I covered in liquid latex and let dry to make the heart that I glued on my arm I bought the collar and belt but used glitter to bring out the color and change up the look I also added craft foam around the belt to add the stripes going down the sides I used an old vest how to attach the arm to with hot glue and e600. I love to create costumes every year and have been doing it now for 4 years and I just love the fact that you can be this creative during this time of year thanks
