Oetrum Costume

Oetrum was a creature concept I made as far back near end of 2018, and it has evolved quite a bit since then. I had a first edition of this as a mask not long after that, it was scrappy, with foam and fur, duct tape and a thick winter balaclava. Silky material painted to be fleshy, foam teeth, and tons of hot glue. It wasn't much, but it was honest work.

This latest edition has a full body now, and is a lot less cheap. Patches of fur that meld into each other perfectly, EVA foam teeth and tongues, more deep and fleshy colors, animal feet and a facial overhaul. Just look at that award winning smile!

The skull is now truly a skull, with beaming red eyes.
I repurposed the scrappy outer face, disposing the cheap teeth, giving it a new nose and ears, new fleshy innards, and making the skull able to be fully exposed.
Velcro makes the outer face have some give to it when tearing the face open.
Those feet are heels, making this creature more towering, and a lot more animalistic.
The gaping maw in the middle of its chest has a tongue!

---The Lore---

This monstrosity preys on those grieving a passed loved one. It shapeshifts to look like their dearly departed, and lures the anguished into the deep woods to "see them again", so to speak. This is the true form of Oetrum. A horrific amalgam of the creatures it has shifted into before. The human skull sits within its maw; a trophy of it's hunting prowess.
