A word from Marcella, the 'Operation Game' costume creator:
My 12 year old daughter and I made the costume for her. She loves to dress up with her siblings with a common theme. When her younger sister was determined to dress up as a surgeon, my 12 year old decided to dress up like the operation game. We saw other versions of the costume on Pinterest, but we wanted to keep ours as true to the actual game as possible. The shirt and leggings were white and had to be dyed flesh colored. The game pieces were made out of foam core board-pictures of the actual game pieces were used as guides. The pictures on the shirt were hand drawn then copied onto iron on paper. The game pieces were attached to the costume with industrial strength Velcro so that they can be removed. The “tweezers” are kitchen tongs with red parachute cord attached to a small spring clip so that it can be removed. We spent approximately 10 hours and $40 making the costume.
