This homemade costume for women entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Amanda, the 'Peacock' costume creator:
I am the model in all of the photos, as well as the designer of the costume. I have been wanting to be a peacock for halloween for a number of years, but have never found a costume that was accurate enough for me. Peacocks are one of the most beautiful things to me, and a cheap packaged halloween costume wasn't going to do it for me this time around.
So in January of this year, I started to plan and draw out my ideas.
I bought the fabric in the skirt from Fabricland, and there was a LOT of it. And, I freehanded the cutting etc. with measurements to fit my body.
I ordered the corset and a ton of various feathers, and added those as final touches to really add colour to the costume.
I did not finish the costume until yesterday (Oct. 25)! So, it was a very long process. and cost approximately 200.00 in total.
