A word from Tanner, the 'Pennywise' costume creator:
This costume is inspired by pennywise in the 2017 movie: IT. I absolutely loved Bill Skarsgard's interpretation. As an actor, costume maker, and lover of creepy stuff, I had to make this costume. I had to do it with around $100, so I had little room for error. I bought all my fabric from Joann's with a lot of coupons (about $50 total). I had to make each pattern by hand and sew it all together. The belt and peplum are attached and button in the back, while the doublet zips up under the pom poms in the front. The balloon pants have elastic in the waist and leg holes. The pants and sleeves were cheat pleated due to a small amount of fabric, and the top of the sleeves are double puffed sleeves. A huge challenge for me was the wig. I bought $20 worth of hair at a local wig shop and a bottle of liquid latex ($10) to make the wig. I styled it with Got2Be glued hairspray ($5), and the wig is applied like a prosthetic with spirit gum. My forehead is enlarged with quilting batting under a bad cap, and then it is textured with toilet paper and liquid latex. I used Ben Nye Clown White for the base foundation, black eye shadow around the eyes, black snazaroo for the eyebrows, and a mix of black and red snazaroo for the mouth, lines, and nose. I weathered the whole costume with watered down fabric paint in a spray bottle. I completed it in less than a month (Started September 15th and finished October 11th).
