This homemade costume for adults entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Sean, the 'Pennywise' costume creator:
Sean is wearing it (me). I fell in love with the movie IT when I saw it on the big screen. I couldn't help myself and had to make the costume! Halloween was my excuse.
The actual costume portion was bought from Cosplaysky.com. I dirtied it up with sprays to make it look worn and weathered. Including the boots.
As for the enlarged head, that's where the real work comes in. I took a big foam skull found at Michaels and shaved it down to be worn. I then packed clay on it to shape it more. This included sculpting the eyebrow area. I then used liquid latex to cover the foam/clay to make one solid piece. After that I took the newly made latex piece off to take the clay out from under it.
With the clay out of the way and the latex piece back over the foam, the headpiece was now light weight and complete!
The wig was another challenge. I bought two wigs off of Amazon. cut one up for the front, and the other was used to fill the back. I hot glued these pieces onto the latex piece. I then took it to a salon where I had my cousin shape and cut the wig to match the movie.
The eyes and teeth were the finishing touches. The contacts that are used is called The Mad Hatter. The teeth were fangs bought from spirits that were filed down to resemble Pennywise's teeth.
I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed scaring people and messing around in it. IT was a big hit at Spooky Empire but unfortunately i missed the contest. The flip side was the amount of happy faces and/or scared ones due to my appearance.
