Phoenix and Gryphon Are Both Phoenix Birds

Phoenix and Gryphon are both dressed as Phoenix’s name-sake, the magical phoenix bird! These costumes were hand-made with tons of feathers and shiny fabric. This was done in a red, yellow, and orange color scheme, to look like fire. The headpiece and talons also included gold shiny fabric pieces. The wings were made with wire inside, so they could stand up better. The phoenixes are known to rise from the ashes to be reborn, and so there is a baby phoenix between the dog phoenixes that has just been reborn and is breaking out of a fiery egg. The egg was made from papier-mâché and painted with white and silver paint.
