Pirate and Parrot Costume

My fiancé wanted to be pirates this year for Halloween! I have seen many female pirate costumes, so I started brainstorming what I could wear that was more original. Then, I thought about how perfectly parrots and pirates go together. We go together perfectly too, so these costumes were perfect for us! For the pirate costume, you can easily shop thrift stores and find pieces for everything. Then we bought the wig, and we had mustaches from last years post-Halloween sales. For the parrot costume, I used elastic, and red, blue, yellow and green tule to make a skirt. I left the blue at a longer length so that it would look like a parrots tail. Then I bought feather boas, and cut them into strips and glued elastic to each side to turn them into bracelets for my wings. Finally, I made the parrot head with a headwarmer and felt. Then I just glued feathers wherever I felt I needed them!
