A word from Darcy, the 'Pokemon Group' costume creator:
My grown children loved Pokemon when they were younger,so I made Pokemon costumes for their children this year.
The preschoolers are wearing the mascot type costumes of Charmander (orange guy) and Jigglypuff (pink ball). These costumes both started as paper and duct tape shapes that I formed over their bodies to get the right size and proportion. I topped the paper /tape base with polar fleece. The eyes are craft foam that I painted and then glued in place.
Most of the Little boy Ash costume is from thrift stores. I bought a white button down shirt that I topped with a blue t-shirt that I removed the sleeves from and cut down the center front to make a vest. I sewed the vest on to the white shirt. Then I just added blue jeans and white high top shoes.
My favorite was dressing the newborn up as a baby Pikachu in a pokeball. I formed the ball over a beach ball to get the round shape. The Pikachu hat I made from polar fleece that I painted features on to.
My children were thrilled with the Junior Pokemen and Ash costumes for their kids.
The kids are all under 4 so I had a really hard time getting them to stay in one spot together. Hopefully by Halloween I will get a good group photo of them all together:)
