A word from Chelsea, the 'Queen of Hearts' costume creator:
My daughter Kiya was the mean Queen of Hearts for her second Halloween. The dress was an easy diy creation with tulle and a headband to hold it all together. Cut each tulle strip to appropriate length. String strips through the headband holes to halfway. The more tulle strips, the thicker the dress will be. Cut hearts out of glittered red cardboard paper and hot glue them to the dress. The neckpiece was the hardest part but can go without if preferred. Sew a single line seam down the middle of a wide tulle strip then pull strings on both ends to scrunch. Tie the loose sting ends to the headband to hold the dress up as straps. The headband is gold glitter construction paper cut with points and more red hearts cut and glued to the tops for decoration. Then poke holes on both sides of the crown bottom and push through a headband. Add a red wig and face makeup for more effect and voila! Happy Halloween!
