This homemade costume for girls entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Gennifer, the 'Rocketman' costume creator:
My 11 year old daughter has known for months that she wanted to wear this costume and be Elton John for Halloween. We located the shoes at H&M while school shopping in July. She painted them herself with fabric paint and exchanged the black laces for the bright orange paracord. The glasses were found online and she glued the rhinestones to them. She also located the jumpsuit, jacket and headpiece as a set online. They required some modifications when we received them. Many hours were spent gluing rhinestones to this. I made the wings from sheets of craft foam, wires, hot glue and a ton of feathers. We riveted the wings to the metal frame harness that we made from Home Depot supplies. I sewed some covers for the metal frame, added more rhinestones there, then more paracord to brace the frame to my child. We've had lots of fun with this. Enjoy!
