Rugrats Reptar Costume

For my sons first Halloween, we celebrated with 31 days of costumes (#31daysofbodhi). Because Rugrats was one of his parents favorite tv shows as a kid, we knew we wanted at least one costume that was Rugrats themed... so we chose Reptar - the gnarly green dinosaur with the catch phrase, "I am Reptar. Hear me ROAR!"

This costume was simple and fun to make. We already had a long sleeve, footie outfit that was the perfect shade of Reptar Green. I bought a few blue cleaning sponges, cut the corners off into perfect triangles and attached them to a light blue ribbon with hot glue. Once the outfit was on him, we used safety pins to attach the sponge covered ribbon down his head and back.
