A word from Ben, the 'Samurai' costume creator:
My Name is Benjamin Delgado III I'm 26 I live in Southern California, Building Costumes is kind of my Hobby this was last years costume.
I made the sandels by weaving Jute rope, the armor is made from foam Yoga Mats that I cut and sprayed with plasti -dip and panited before I poked holes and laced with black shoe laces, for the shin guards I sewed many square pieces of foam to a black apron and tied it to my thighs, for the shoulders I sewed many tiny square pieces into a black shirt, the arms and leg guards are serval long foam pieces fastened together with lace, I bought the swords from a Halloween store but I made the sheaths from PVC pipes, for the mask I took a Halloween Oni/Demon mask and painted it before gluing a white fur mustache and lacing the foam throat guard, the helmet is a Halloween costume Army helmet that I drilled holes into before lacing and gluing spikes and the ornaments, I also added tassels to the shoulder guards the flag is red fabric that I sewed the Takada symbol on to the poll is just wood and a screw it slides into a fabric covered pipe on my back for easy removal If I remember correct this cost me about $100.00 to build and took about 4 Months there was a lot of weaving and sewing involved.
