A word from Sharon, the 'Shark' costume creator:
My grandson Casen is wearing the costume. He called me and said Grammy will you make me a shark costume for Halloween, and of course I responded with a yes. I researched pinterest and couldn't find the look I wanted. Casen is 4 years old and loves to fish. He is always the fish and we pertend to catch him. I wanted something that look real and something he could play in after halloween. I took paper and traced around him to get the size and then I took 1 inch foam and cut front and back. Covered the foam with gray fleece. Made mouth with red flannel and teeth with white fleece. Fins and tail made from foam and fleece. and I left the fleece long enough to fit in the front and back seams. I completed the front and the back then sewed them right side together and turned. Put the costume on Casen and figured out where the arms needed to be. Cut the holes then hand stitched raw edges, then did same with the bottom. The eyes are google eyes with a rolled up fleece for top and bottom lids, and glued on. The treat bag was from a pattern I found on pinterest, but I did embroider his name on the tail. My grandkids no I can just about make anything they ask for being a cake, costume, or just about anything. I love to please them. I am in the process of making an octopus costume for my 4 month old granddaughter.
