A word from Ashley, the 'Slimer' costume creator:
Our daughter Aliviah is wearing the Slimer costume. The idea came from the movie Ghostbusters. We created the costume primarily from spray foam gap filler. First we started with the head by spray foaming the top of a bucket into the basic shape. Once it dried we removed it from the bucket. Next we created the body by putting a dress over a tomato cage. Then we began spray foaming it all around. We did several layers until it was large enough to begin carving all the rolls on the front and back. Next the cage was removed and we attached the head to the body with more foam. We then spent several evenings carving all of the details in the body and face. The last steps were spray painting the body green then hand painting the inside of the mouth, tongue and teeth. So many people have complimented us on this creation and always ask how we did it. Once it is done being used as a costume it will then become a part of our Halloween decor for years to come.
