This homemade costume for couples entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Chantel, the 'Sports Trophies' costume creator:
My Husband and I are the ones sporting the costume! I found the idea while surfing around Pinterest and fell in love with how original and creative it was.
The first thing I did was I went to the thrift store and bought a baseball uniform and a tennis a tennis outfit. Im actually got really lucky in finding everything I needed. Then once I had the outfits and the props I bought 2 cans of spray paint. This was not enough I ended up using a grand total of 7 cans of metallic gold spray paint. Then I took old soda can crates and wired them together to make the platforms. I then covered them with brown packing paper, sprayed them with silver metallic spray paint and let it dry. the last step was going back over the silver very lightly making a marble effect. As for the make up we used cream makeup from the Halloween store along with the gold hairspray. Other than a little creativity and some effort this was an awesome relatively inexpensive costume and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Including us! I added my Own Humor by making my husband a Participation Award! HEHE
