Photo #1 - Here's the finished Super Mario! Photo #2 - Plastic cauldron with hole cut for mouth and baseball helmut screwed inside Photo #3 - Making the Mario hat from watching Beck Blow video. Cereal box and duct tape inside to give it shape. Photo #4 - Used felt and attached with spray glue - starting from the front and smoothing in small sections as you go. Used quilt batting to make cheeks Photo #5 - Wasn't sure what to do with the extra felt as I came around the sides - then had the idea to fold them up and make the ears! Hand stitched them in place and used brown felt hair to cover any seams. Photo #6 - Cut eyes and moustache out of construction paper so we could check the spacing as we worked. Then cut out of coloured felt and spray glued in place. We used an only photo of mario as inspiration. Photo #7 - The nose was tricky to attach due to it's protrusion from the face! Used stitching, spray glue and hot glue to fasten tightly! Photo #8 - Sewed the hospital top to look like overalls and tucked in the shirt over the pillow belly. Voila! Ready for halloween!
