A word from Cadmus, the 'Sutekh, last of the Osirans' costume creator:
Costume designed and worn by my son, age 8. Sutekh was a villain in the classic Dr. Who series of which we are both fans. We cut a plastic gallon water jug in half and reversed their orientation to make the basic frame of the mask. We saved some plastic scraps to make the chin jut out and for the "snake-head" ornament. We then applied several layers of papier mache to form the surface of the mask. Finally, we used some pewter spray paint to provide a metallic sheen and some orange glow-in-the-dark paint for the eyes of Horus and highlights. The rest is a long-sleeved shirt, a long black skirt, and some shoulder pads. To get the effect right, we cut out an oval of black cloth and draped it over the football pads. We also cut out a section of old paper towel tube and fixed it to the front so the cloth would drape over and recreate the effect from the original costume. Add some gloves and voila!
