A word from Natalie, the 'The Centaur' costume creator:
This costume was one I originally designed in high school (2007) when Narnia was released. I was in love with the concept of the centaur and wanted to make one into a costume that was functional. It took me a few times but this was the most recent design I had finished in 2015. The body was formed with chicken wire and zip ties to hold pieces together. The base of the back feet were mounted on pieces of wood with swivel wheels so that the "butt" would follow me. I latched a belt onto the front of the stomach to keep the body up and even with my waist. It functioned great and I got around quite easily due to the design. The armor was made of poster board covered with pleather material and velcroed together. Then I used a piece of "armor" material to add to the belt to cover the illusion gap behind my legs. The horns are real water buffalo with holes drilled in them. The piece of rawhide keeps them together and ties around my head. This is still one of my favorite costumes!
