This homemade costume for families entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Laurie, the 'The Mario Kart Gang' costume creator:
Our twins wanted to be Mario and Luigi and I took it from there!!! I made from scratch my husbands donkey Kong costume with felt, fur and hot glue! Now assuring tape or seeing! Just scissors and a Browns shirt and pants for a base for the costume and a $1 hockey mask for a base for the mask.
My oldest sons Bowser costume was made the same way using a bowser mask as a base and I attached a back for the mask so that his hair would not show. I used a pool noodle wrapped around an aluminum turkey pan cover in felt for the shell.... Along with felt made into cones and filled with fiberfill for the spikes!
