The Muppets Costume

To the far right is mom as Miss Piggy. I created this look by purchasing a sequence dress at a local thrift store, I purchased a blond wig and long lashes. To make the ears and nose: I cut felt fabric as ears and glued them to a headband, I used the same felt fabric to make a pig nose, attached it over my nose with tape. And accessorized with faux pearl necklace, satin gloves and black feather boa.
In the middle is dad as Kermit the Frog. This look was the easiest, I bought matching green pants and long sleeve shirt on which I added lighter green felt fabric to the neck of the shirt. The head piece was all made out of felt fabric as well, I covered a dollar tree hat with the fabric to give it the shape. I then added foam ball eyes, I purchased one which I cut in half, hot glued it to the hat and hot glued the details. I added a strip of felt at the base of the eyes to give it a clean look.
Lastly for my sons costume as Animal, was my favorite. His clothes were all purchased at a thrift store. I got a orange long sleeve, lighter orange pants that were layered with a pair of brown shorts that I cut to give a torn look. I added a belt I already had at home. I purchased a plastic chain that I placed as a necklace. For the mask, the base was also a dollar tree helmet. I got glued the eyes first and covered the helmet completely with red feathers, adhering with hot glue. I added a strip of felt fabric around the eyes to look like skin, and hot glued the eyebrows (black feathers). Lastly I added the mouthpiece that went under his chin, made out of felt fabric, and added felt fabric teeth.
