The Nightmare Before Christmas Costume

Halloween is my favourite time of year! We always make sure we have a unanimous decision for our family costumes, and each of our kids will agree on what they will be. I typically start with a trip to a used clothing store to grab some of the basics, and then I build off of that.
For Jack I tailored a mens suit, painted the lines, made the tie from felt and wire, and paper mached the head. For sally I bought a basic dress, and patched and painted on top of it. On the mayor, I used a flower pot and a witches hat to get the basic shape of his head and made the accessories. For the dog Zero, I used an old bicycle helmet and some milk jugs to create the shape of the dogs face, i fed wires through the helmet to make the ears stand, and covered it from there. On the Devil, Lock, I made her red outfit, used cardboard, and a milk jug to form the mask shape and painted it. And last, but not least, Oogie boogie was created out of 8 burlap sacks, some stuffing, and a hardhat :)
