This homemade costume for kids entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Chase, the 'The Snack Machine' costume creator:
The "Snack Machine" was made entirely by me. I got the idea for this while trying to come up with a homemade costume. The main aspects of this costume are:
-a cardboard box
- some poster board for the siding
-6 snacks of your choosing
-some clear plastic film
-hot glue(lots of it)
-cut out letters from the store
-a slinky for the metal snack holders
-some clip on lights(for night)
In total this costume cost about 20$ and it took about 8-10 hours of work over all.
If you are wanting to make this costume its pretty self explanatory, you can add just about any little details you want. But make sure that you make the display piece of cardboard lower then the box itself so that the snacks aren't popping out.
Tips:
-use hot glue not tape
-If you don't want to carry a bag around during halloween, cut an opening in a zip lock bag and hot glue it to the "insert candy" spot so it can hold candy
Thanks! Hope y'all enjoy my costume!
