A word from Candace, the 'The Wizard of Oz' costume creator:
The idea for the Wizard of Oz came from our principal, Carrie McGill (the Tin Man). She used cardboard that was spraypainted silver, dryer hoses for her arms, and accessories. I am the Scarecrow. I made my costume out of some of my husbands clothes, patches, burlap, rope, and felt. Our Glenda the Good Witch sewed her dress, Dorothy already owned her dress and spray painted her red shoes, then applied glitter. Our Cowardly Lion is the assistant principal, and he bought his costume (he chickened out of making his own).
