A word from Ashley, the 'The Big Hunt' costume creator:

My boyfriend and I decided to make costumes this year to save money, and what better to go as this close to Deer Season :) My boyfriend (Ryan) and Myself (Ashley) went as a hunter and a buck deer. I have an arrow through my heart along with my 11 point homemade antlers! Def a hit at the costume party!

I used paper mâché on a mount we had here at the house. After it dried I used a box cutter and slipped it off the rack. I zip tied them to a wide hair band then wrapped the whole thing in tan vet cling stuff. I would have made them smaller if done over just because they are pretty heavy and slide off if I bend my head.

Hello sorry to bug u do u know if the material u used to cover the paper mâché was Vet Wrap or was it more of a tape/sticky material?

I took a box cutter and slit it along the inside edges and just slipped it off. It was a little difficult but even if it bends you can fix it back with and extra layer of paper mâché. I used vet wrap to wrap it. It's all I had and seemed to work pretty well plus it made is super sturdy.

How did u get Arrow to stay put?

#10 comment by Ashley October 27, 2013

Sewed a piece of cardboard underneath and poked the arrow through along with some hot glue.
