This homemade costume for pets entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Yvonne, the 'The Lone Hound and Tonta' costume creator:
Suvee is wearing The Lone Hound and Zee is wearing Tonta. The idea came form the movie "The Lone Ranger and Tonto".
I used Kwik pattern (K3076) for large dogs, that would be the actual body piece for the costume, then I embellished it with wooden plastic beats, feathers, studs, suede trim. I also used stretchy suede and t-shirt materials. The tomahawk was homemade, the handle was torch burnt and I added beats and feathers. The mask is made out of foam sheet and braided trim, patch is embroidered. Everything was hand or machine sown. The Indian toy-knife, cowboy hat, gun belt, toy-gun, badge and black crow were purchased online. The gun holster was handmade with imitation leather and studs. It's lots of fun dressing up furry friends and sharing them with everyone else. Happy Halloween.
