This homemade costume for babies entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Veronica, the 'The Pink Skydiver' costume creator:
Our daughter Siena was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 6 weeks old and was required to wear a Pavlik harness nearly 24 hours a day for several months to stabilize her hips.
We wanted to commemorate Siena's first Halloween in a very special way, and decided to make the Pavlik harness the "centerpiece" of her costume! My husband made a parachute out of an old wire hanger and a trashcan liner, and my swim goggles completed her skydiver outfit. Overall cost? 0.
Siena's costume also demonstrates that you can turn a negative situation into a POSITIVE one! Thankfully she was such an amazing sport and really got into character!
