Tin Man Costume

My granddaughter Hadley ( 5 ) is The Tin man. How I got the idea was ; When her daddy ( my son ) was around her age I made him a “ Tin Man “ costume completely homemade & it turned out GREAT . I wrapped it up & put it in a trash bag & stored it for 20 yrs. I was so proud of it especially since I made it myself . When I got it out to see if it would fit his daughter it somehow got wet & was falling apart so I knew I had to make a new one for her so I was determined to do it . I used a box & made a hole for her head & arms & that part is tricky because theirs no way to put it on to see where the arm holes should go . I used foil to wrap around the box . The buttons are cardboard wrapped in foil , the heart is cardboard with red construction paper glued on it & white for the clock . The hat is made from a funnel I spray painted it & the strings silver . The oil can is made from paper plates wrapped in foil & the ax is 2 pieces of light wood cut & made into an ax shape & spray painted silver . I sprayed her hair with silver spray & used silver make up on her face arms & hands & she’s wearing a gray sweat shirt, pants & boots . She looks just like her daddy did & I am so proud of being able to do this 20 + years later
